MIND-SET

Fixed Mindset vs. Growth Mindset | SmartMinds
Your mind vs your mind when you take control

There is a direct correlation between your mind and your body. Not only when it comes to your brain dictating functions like chemical pathways and hormone function, but also, the state of your mindset plays a HUGE role in your overall well-being. Our mindset is literally the “setting of our mind” the lens we view the world through at any given moment.

Let me give you a few examples:

  • Several studies on the effectiveness of medicines have shown that when the patient knows what the medication is and what effect it is supposed to have, those medications statistically work better than control groups of patients being given the same medications, in the same dose, for the same issues. What this shows us is that effectiveness of treatment is more so dictated by belief than we have ever known before. Think of this as the EXPECTATION TO HEAL.
  • Another several studies including ones done at Harvard have shown that exercise, when done with the EXPECTATION of a certain result is almost 100% more likely to achieve that expected result. If you are exercising and you don’t know why, or what to expect from it… It won’t be as effective. This tells us that by having the propper MINDSET, You can statistically stack the odds in your favor for whatever physical goal you may have. If you run everyday and your mindset is that you hate running and “what is this even doing for me?” You likely won’t see much result. However if you just simply change your minds setting, and tell yourself you are running to imporve your health, lower your blood pressure, lose weight and become stronger, those things are immensly more likely tom happen. ALMOST 100% more so!
  • Stress is one of the most facinating. We tend to believe that stress is inherintly “bad”. We are bombarded by articles and blogs and videos about stress csausing all sorts of negative side effects… But is that the stress actually causing it? Or your BELIEF that stress is causing it? Stress is managed by the body in the same ways. There is an interesting principle called the SAID principle. This is the bodies response to stimuli including stressors. Specific Adaptation To Imposed Demands. What this means is the body will adapt to whatever stress you put it under and that response starts in your mind. It is up to YOU how you choose to tell your body to react and adapt to everything!

Once you realize how powerful your mind truly is, you can start changing how your body operates! Mindset is everything. I’m sure you have seen that on 100000 bumper stickers and motivational ads and videos but without understanding what that actually means, that information is pretty useless!

Let me give you one final and easy-to-use example.

  • Tomorrow when you wake up, Immediatly the first thing you should think is “FUCK YES I AM SO HAPPY TO BE AWAKE AND ALIVE!” Then make your bed and carron on your day. I Guarentee you will notice a shift in your entire mood over the whole day! You will be more productive, happier and you will start the shift of realizing how powerful you truly are in dictating your life and your reality!

Your reality is whatever you set your mind to!

Cheers!
